Halloween and New York

These past few months Haylee has been obsessed with the wizard of oz so we decided to go with the Dorthy costume. Then her and her daddy were talking and he got talked into being the lion because he can't say no to his little two year old. He was such a good sport it blew me away.

Haylee and I made the Minnie mouse pumpkin, Dallan made Mario and Jennie did the skull.

While in New York this year we went to the American Museum of Natural History which was very fascinating and got us thinking (which is never a bad thing). This was the museum where "Night at the Museum" took place. We could have spent days touring this place but only had a few hows before our flight.

We also got to go to Wicked for the second time and it was just as amazing as the first. We're pretty lucky.

This is probably my favorite place to eat in New York called La Mela in Little Italy. Monitronics so kindly took us out to eat. We had a really good time despite the bad weather, the trip was still a success.

Cabo

We went to Cabo San Lucas for Jason's work retreat. The first few days were rainy so we stayed inside most the time but as soon as the weather cleared up we were off to explore. We rented mopeds for two days and I am pretty sure that was Jason's favorite part. We also had the company dinner on the beach with tiki torches and excellent service. I mostly layed by the pool enjoying my cross word puzzles and magazines and Jason spent most his time on that darn moped. We had a great time relaxing and spending time with each other.

Happy Birthday to Haylee!!!!!

Warning there are a lot of pictures on this post because we had a very eventful week with this birthday girl.They are some what backwards but just bear with me and try to follow the story. We finished the birthday day with dinner as a family at Claim Jumpers.

She loves loves loves when people sing her Happy Birthday and she will usually chime in and join the singing which is so cute. It is always Happy Birthday to Haylee or Maddie.

We went to Dylans (My cousin Carly's son) Birthday party at a place called Pump it Up and she enjoyed it so much I thought I would take her back for her birthday day just the two of us.

This is her ready to go for the day. She insists she has her purse with her where ever we go and today was extra special because she got princess shoes for her birthday and this outfit came with a hat that she wanted to wear. It was the perfect ensemble.

Mommy and Daddy got her a playhouse for her big birthday present and I am pretty sure she wants to grow up and raise her children in here. She won't leave it and she insist that she has at least one visitor at all time. As you can see below Papa was the visitor of choice.

Before her birthday party on Sat I went to get her hair cut by my cousin Lauren. She did great for her first time and the sucker and squirt bottle helped as well as having Aunt Jen Jen there to squirt.

The birthday party was an absolute success. Haylee had a great time seeing all her friends and opening presents.

It was a Mickey Mouse themed party and we played pin the tail on Pluto and had mickey mouse ears for everyone. I was so grateful for everyone that came especially the ones from out of town it meant a lot. Thanks for making it so fun.

Family night we went bowling and once again we had a blast. I wasn't joking when I said this birthday has been a week long event. Now I remember why birthday were such a big deal growing up.

IT'S A BOY!!!!

We went to the dr. today and he is 90% sure it's a boy. We are so excited and thrilled!!!

Play Play Play

Haylee loves to play with friends and this week she had a new friend , Kate, over to play. They played babies and play dough. Watching her grow and interact with new friends is one of the great joys of being a parent. We also go to storytime at the library on Wednesdays which we did for the first time today.

Kate is only 9 months older but so much taller than Haylee!

We went to the lake with my parents for a day and had a great time. The water was perfect and Haylee always has a blast. I was glad Jason was able to go with us this time!

Haylee is obsessed with playing the piano, she wants to be like Uncle Dallan. She is very serious when she plays too, it's not like she is pounding on the piano and she loves a crowd. (just like uncle dallan)

Pregnant, Moving and Swimming

I am now 10 weeks along everything has been going great. I get a little nauseous at night but nothing a little saltines and water won't fix. We packed our house up and are officially moved out. I thought all that work would have put a lot of stress on the baby but with a lot of help and quite a few breaks we got it done. It is bittersweet to be moving, I am excited to be with Jason but I am heart broken to leave my house not knowing where we're going to move. My parents are so generous to let us move in (again) until we figure out where we're headed. Haylee has been loving the attention at grandma and papa's house and has been spending a lot of time in the pool. She isn't swimming yet but we are working on it, she will be one of my more challenging students. In all my years of teaching swimming I never thought I would have a child who did the bicycle kick or had to wipe her eyes on a towel every time she put her face in the water or screamed at me saying "noooooo". We have been having a great summer and are very excited for fall.

Here we come Vegas

As far as potty training goes it has been much better than expected. The first day was a little rough, lots of laundry and lots of positive reinforcement. The second day we only had one accident and today has been so so. Jason and I have been going back and forth on whether or not to move and today it kind of all fell into place. I had a guy come over to look at the house which wasn't necessarily planned and he came, fell in the with the house and will be moving in by the 24th of August. I was in shock but relieved that we have finally moved forward with a plan. Now I just think of entertaining the idea of hiring "2 guys and moving truck" but I know I can do it. One room at a time, right? So here we come Vegas ready or not.

Garage Sale, Potty Training and Play

So we have be trying our hand at potty training (well we started today) we haven't had success yet but I would like to say we are making progress. Jason has been home this whole past week and it was great!! We went fishing on friday for the 24th and then to the drive ins on Sat. Haylee was loving the drive ins because behind us were two cartoon movies playing so she kept going from side to side in the truck like those blue heeler dogs you see in the back of trucks on the highways. Anyway we have loved being together this whole week and plan to have it happen a lot more!!



The garage sale wasn't as successful as we would like and I would like to blame that all on Jason because I didn't have my salesman their to guide me.

Haylee and I watched Ella (our neighbors baby) for a few hours and Haylee was in heaven. She is going to be a great big sister some day.

Haylee only liked getting in and out . But it seemed she was having fun. And as you can tell the backyard is finished and we are enjoying every minute of not having dirt.

Summer Lovin

We have been very busy this summer. After finishing Ragnar I headed back down to Vegas for two weeks. After much contemplation and figuring out how Jason and I can be together as much as possible we have decided to move to Las Vegas and rent our house out. We are both a little heart broken to leave our house but it is not worth living in it alone. So we are house hunting again and also looking for quality renters. Anyway after our Vegas stay Haylee and I were off to Family reunions. First was the Davis Family Reunion at the beach house in Watsonville, CA. We have been doing this since I was 2 months old and it is so neat to see Haylee and Maddie experience it now. Then after that it was off to Ut for the Poulsen family reunion at the Box Elder Camp ground.

Jason's Birthday- as you can see haylee was helping . I got a bike for my birthday and wanted him to join me so now we can ride together. Jason has been so awesome and has been working harder then ever. He turned 26 this year and just amazes me at what he has accomplished in those years. I'm so proud of him and love him very much.

Once I got back to LV my mom and I took Haylee to the flower garden at the Belagio and to the M&M Factory. We were regular tourist today.
